Top 5 Wednesday | Favourite Buzz Words

I thought since I'm getting back into the blogging that I would resume my Top 5 Wednesday posts.
I get the topics from the official thread on Goodreads (link here) and sometimes they're not a topic I can participate in because I either don't have five favourites out of the category or it's just not a category I'm interested in at all.

This weeks category is quite interesting, it's my favourite ''buzz words'' that guarantee me to pick up a book when I see them in the synopsis or description.
I'm pretty much a creature of habit when it comes to buying books so this should be pretty easy for me!

1. Romantic | I am a hopeless romantic and love a good soppy film or book, so when I see a book described as romantic I'm always drawn to it.
If you love romantic books then I'd definitely recommend Cecelia Ahern and Jojo Moyes, they're romantic to the point of ugly crying.

2. Gripping | I'm a huge thriller fan, ever since I read Gone Girl something with thrillers clicked for me and I love nothing more than reading a good, absorbing, clever thriller!
Picks in the thriller genre for me would include all of Paula Daly's books and, of course, Girl on the Train, but I'm sure you've all read that anyway.

3. Classic | I love a good classic, I like nothing more than going into a charity shop and rifling through the really old looking classic books, there's a shop near me that sells them for 50p each and I've gotten so many beautiful old books that look splendid on my shelves.
I like a book that looks like it could be held by Elizabeth Bennett in Pride and Prejudice, I was definitely born in the wrong era.

4. Fiction | I don't read anything but fiction, I've read a few autobiographies in my time but my heart truly lies with a good story and brilliant characters.
I love to give my imagination a workout so unless the people or subject behind the autobiography is really interesting I just don't bother with them.

5. Dystopian | Dystopian YA is a genre I loved a lot last year, I haven't read one of these for a while but I still have a lot to be read on my bookshelf so I'm sure I'll pick another one up before long.
Dystopian basically means our world but in an alternate universe or place in time, when we're going through an apocalypse or have just been through one usually.
Some of my favourites in this genre include The Hunger Games, Maze Runner and Daughter of Smoke and Bone.
