May Wrap-Up!

Hello lovely book readers!!
Time for my slightly late May wrap-up post! I read three books last month, which is pretty standard for me, I get quite unmotivated to read when I'm working a lot as I always feel too tired at night, and reading at any other time of the day just feels a bit weird to me!

Through The Ever Night by Veronica Rossi
Synopsis - It's been months since Aria last saw Perry. Months since Perry was named Blood Lord of the Tides, and Aria was charged with an impossible mission. Now, finally, they are about to be reunited. But their reunion is far from perfect. The Tides don't take kindly to Aria, a former Dweller. And with the worsening Aether storms threatening the tribe's precarious existence, Aria begins to fear that leaving Perry behind might be the only way to save them both.
Threatened by false friends and powerful temptations, Aria and Perry wonder, Can their love survive through the ever night?
I adore these books, I loved the first one and finished that in a day and this one was exactly the same! I stayed up until crazy-o-clock reading the end of it because I just HAD to know what happened! I really connect with Aria and Perry and their love story, it's one of those impossible movie style romances that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside :)
If they ever made a movie of these books I would find it so hard seeing these characters being brought to life because I care about them so much!
I've still got the final book to read but I'm pacing myself, because I never want the trilogy to be over :(

The One Plus One by Jojo Moyes
Synopsis - One single mum
With two jobs and two children, Jess Thomas does her best day after day. But it's hard on your own. And sometimes you take risks you shouldn't. Because you have to . . .
One chaotic family
Jess's gifted, quirky daughter Tanzie is brilliant with numbers, but without a helping hand she'll never get the chance to shine. And Nicky, Jess's teenage stepson, can't fight the bullies alone.
Sometimes Jess feels like they're sinking . . .
One handsome stranger
Into their lives comes Ed Nicholls, a man whose life is in chaos, and who is running from a deeply uncertain future. But he has time on his hands. He knows what it's like to be lonely. And he wants to help . . .
I'm a huge fan of Jojo Moyes, as I've mentioned quite a few times before on this blog, so I knew I'd like this book.
I love her writing style so much, you learn so much detail about the characters without feeling like you're even learning it! Sometimes when a writer puts a lot of detail into a book it feels long winded and slow but Jojo has a way of captivating your interest and holding it for the whole book.
The characters also feel so real in her books, I can't fault her as a writer!
I'm going to do a review on this book so I won't go into it too much but basically I adored this book and gave it 5 stars :)

Just One Year by Gayle Forman
Synopsis - Twenty-four hours can change your life . . .
Allyson and Willem share one magical day together in Paris, before chance rips them apart.
The romantic, emotional companion to Just One Day, this is a story of the choices we make and the accidents life throws at us.
But is one day enough to find your fate?
This is the sequel to Just One Day, which was a 5 star book for me, I absolutely loved it so I was excited to read the sequel!
But unfortunately I was a bit disappointed.
Just like The One Plus One, this book had a lot of detail in it, but I felt like this was one of those books that got slow and boring in parts because of all that detail!
I felt like it took pages and pages to describe a room or a scenario and I even skipped over a few sentences in some parts because I just couldn't see the point in reading all of that unnecessary detail.
I did enjoy the book, and seeing it from Willem's perspective filled in a lot of gaps in the story which was great as I had a lot of questions, but it was nowhere near as good as Just One Day so I only gave it 3 out of 5 stars.

So there's my 3! My TBR will be up shortly, even though I only read one book from my TBR last month haha!
