T5W - Top 5 Friendships!

Hi guys!!
I've recently joined the Goodreads group to take part in the Top 5 Wednesday posts/videos that are being made by every brilliant booktuber I watch, to see the list of all of the people participating click here.

This weeks post is a little bit late, mainly because I got a new phone yesterday so I've been playing around with it for the past two days, when I haven't been working :).

But the theme for this week is really interesting, my top 5 friendships!
I'm ranking these friendships in no particular order, I couldn't choose!

1. Thomas & Chuck - Maze Runner
This was a reluctant friendship from Thomas' part, Chuck latched onto him as soon as he came out of the box in the first Maze Runner book and was relentlessly nice to him, Thomas found him irritating and tried to avoid him for a lot of the book, but about three-quarters of the way through Thomas started to rely on Chuck, for light relief during the times of great upheaval and stress, to perk him up when Thomas has the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Their friendship comes to an abrupt end at the end of the first book, I won't tell you how but it's a heart-breaking conclusion to their friendship.

2. Jenny & Angela - I Heart New York
I love Angela's character, she's a funny, personable character who I see a lot of myself in, and Jenny is the perfect antithesis to Angela!
She reminds me of one of my friends, more impulsive and confident, brings Angela out of her shell and is always there to defend her if anyone wrongs her.
Most importantly, she's one hell of a shopping partner!!

3. Reagan & Cather - Fangirl
Reagan was such a brilliant character, she's feisty, sarcastic and mean, without being actually mean, she just wants what's best for Cather really, wants to bring her out of her shell and get her to live her life, instead of just running away from it.
Reagan has such a funny way of observing things as well, her (mostly) mock disdain for Cathers Simon Snow fan fiction is a particular favourite of mine!

4. Katniss & Rue - The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games has to be my favourite book trilogy of all time, they're gonna feature heavily on these T5W posts, I warn you!
Katniss & Rue is such a lovely friendship, Katniss joined together with Rue because she reminded her of her little sister Prim, and she wanted to protect her and keep her safe because of that, they had such a nice dynamic and I was so upset when their friendship ended in the way it did.

5. Finnick & Peeta/Katniss - The Hunger Games
And here it is again! But this trilogy was so great for giving the impression of truly forged friendships, obviously because of the subject matter and what they were all going through, that I couldn't NOT mention them again :).
Finnick was probably my favourite character from The Hunger Games trilogy, he came across so arrogant at first but then his character went on such a journey, we discovered things about him that explained so much about his character, and he saved Peeta and Katniss' lives numerous times without even being asked, he proved himself such a faultlessly loyal ally that, if I was forced to choose a winner for this top 5, he would be it.

There we have it! My first (admittedly, late) top 5 Wednesday!! This was fun to do and I'm going to try my best to carry on with these posts :)
Toodles! x
